Beya and her inner circle
ǁNára is Beya’s inner circle, the people through whom her rule takes hold of Vela. She keeps them close to guard the province, enforce her control and launch attacks from its frozen strongholds. In a land where heat, shelter and protected passage decide who survives, defending Vela and preserving Beya’s authority are deeply entwined. Koru brings aerial pursuit and infiltration; Ravai, disciplined field command; Veyr, intelligence and the control of secrets; Nerai, decay and the dead. Their loyalty is personal, entangled with family, ambition, intimacy and the need to belong. Beya knows the bonds that hold each of them close—and the pressure those bonds can bear. Together, they make Vela both the domain she holds and the base from which she strikes.
